7 Things Busy Moms Need When Traveling

Moms, you’re superheroes in our eyes. You get your kids ready for school every morning. You drive them to football, basketball, dance, and whatever other activities they get involved in. You help with their homework. And you might even be doing this while also working to help provide for them! We see you, and we appreciate you.

So, Mom, when you get some time for yourself to go on vacation, you deserve to have the time of your life! No holding back now – this is YOUR time. To make the most of it, here are 7 things every busy mom needs to have a blast when traveling:

Out-of-Office reply

This is no time to be answering work emails. Set your out-of-office reply to let everyone know you’re gone, and you’ll handle things when you get back. And make sure you switch off and don’t give in to the temptation to check your work email! This is your time to rest. Whatever it is, it’ll be there when you get back.

Cute outfits

You’re on vacation, Queen, so it’s time to strut! Get out the diva clothes you never get a chance to wear anymore. Dress yourself up, strap on those heels that have been sitting in the back of your closet, and show the world you’ve still got it! Maybe even a cute little bikini? No need to be self-conscious – you’re gorgeous, so own it!

Money to treat yourself

You’re always putting your kids’ needs first, but now it’s time for you. Set money aside just for this trip to spend on whatever you want. And make sure to spend it on yourself, not on souvenirs for the kids. Get a massage, buy some sexy shoes, invest in a new statement piece, and take yourself out for a fancy meal. You deserve this!

Your bestie

Time with your bestie is priceless. But when you’re so busy with your families, you probably don’t get to see each other as much as you’d like. Plan a getaway with your bestie to keep the friendship flame alive and enjoy spending time just being yourselves again, without the kids, the significant others or anyone else.

A good book

There’s nothing like relaxing with a good book, but when everyone at home is demanding your attention, it’s hard to find time to read. So while you’re away, catch up on your reading! Bring a good book or three to read on the plane, by the pool, on the beach, laying in bed… wherever you choose to relax.

Upgrades

How often do you get away on your own? Probably not much, right? So make the most of this rare time and give yourself the premium pampering you deserve. Ask about upgrading your flight, your hotel room, your transport – anything that elevates your trip from ordinary to opulent! Moms deserve the best of everything!

Mindset

We’re ending this on the most important one: a mindset of self-worth, that you absolutely deserve this time away. You might feel guilty for taking time to yourself and leaving the kids at home. But you’re no good to anyone if you burn out. You can’t fill from an empty cup, so you need to make sure your cup is full to the brim! By refreshing yourself with time away, you’ll come home full of energy and zest for life.

Taking time to get away on your own and recharge your batteries will make you a better mom. Period. So if you start feeling guilty about having fun without the kids, kick those guilty thoughts out the door, slip into that bikini, and tell yourself you’re doing this for them as much as for yourself!
